SSSI History query/ies

Dear SSSI-lers

on sssi-talk a short discussion happened about sources on the history of the Society. A few papers were mentioned. Surely there is more out there. In the response to this query would you please post sources (books, articles, etc.) you are aware of.

I will collate the information and post it.
